The 6 Degrees of Joshua Jackson

Five years ago, after a shallow evening of dancing and gossip, I arrived hungover at the Zen Cafe in Kitsilano. I was there for the salmon benny. Little did I know that I would have the displeasure of sitting 2 inches away from the table where Joshua Jackson (Pacey from Dawson's Creek) poured out his heart to a fascinated and far too attractive groupie chick. "Maybe acting is something I can leverage into a screenwriting career," he said, "I guess you just have to be thankful for the opportunities that unfold for you." I rolled my eyes. During that brunch, Joshua Jackson became Cosmic Pacey...and he continues to re-enter my orbit in the least expected places.

In the last two days crackers have been attacking the Church of Scientology site in an effort to seek out revenge on the CoS for their initial onslaught of cease and desist letters surrounding the distribution of a bat shit insane Tom Cruise Scientology video. There is less than a week until the primaries in most US states and "Anonymous" and his/her group of highly intelligent hacker friends is attacking the Church of Scientology? Let's refocus that type of effort on exposing the GOP, or at least on coming up with a clever hack on the Diebold machines.

CHOOSING YOUR BATTLES
Westboro Baptist Church has issued a statement via their GodHatesFags website that they intend to picket American memorial services for late actor Heath Ledger due to his portrayal of a homosexual farmhand in "Brokeback Mountain". Umm...beyond the obvious fact that gay bashing is so 1950's, Brokeback Mountain is just a movie, and while Jake Gyllenhaal is certainly a delicious piece of cowboy, he's actually dating pugfaced oscar winner Reese Witherspoon. Ledger even made a baby...by putting his parts into a woman. All signs point to straight.
