Sad Guys

Finally! I get to talk about a meme created by someone I can verify is cool in real life. Remember Jess and her equally-talented other half Koshi? Well she's just collaborated with her friend Chris on Sad Guys on Trading Floors.

Basically she's found a way to appeal to both my mean streak and lack of empathy for people with money. Apparently others share my sentiment because it's big on Metafilter, BoingBoing, and has even been in traditional media outlets.

By my calculations, Jess should be a minor internet celebrity in about 8 months. Somebody pay Jess. In the altered words of the late and adorable Allen Ginsberg , "When can she walk into the supermarket and buy what she needs with her good jokes?"

I know, I'm like a gushing Midwestern mother. Oh Gad honey, I'm so proud of you.

At the same time, Ben Huh of I Can Has Cheezburger has built an entire empire around weird memes. I think Sad Guys on Trading Floors can easily be spun out to incorporate sad, angry or delirious guys across America.
