Oh man. It's all come full circle. Google has just revamped their Moon Maps and now potential space voyageurs can locate place marks tagged with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

It's an exciting time my friends. Think about it. Thousands of fans who joined the internet to stay in touch with mates post Trekkie convention are now able to navigate the cosmos we all long to explore. Moreover, according to Google Blogoscoped, the search giants are also sponsoring the Lunar X-Prize for $30 million dollars as part of an effort to prod the competition in the private/corporate space race.

While Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic is already selling seats for a private space tourism voyage, other notable personalities have chosen to sign on as Lunar X-Prize advisors including Google's Larry Page, private space explorer Dr. Anousheh Ansari (for which the Ansari X prize was originally named) and popular futurist and author Ray Kurzweil.
