Microsoft to Create Own Facebook

For the longest time everyone thought that Microsoft was going to buy Facebook, but now it seems like they are just going to create their own MySpace/Facebook competitor.

The company, Wallop, was originally a research project at Microsoft, and is backed by a fair bit of money from Microsoft.

Wallop will let users purchase software and designs from an online marketplace filled with interactive characters, graphics and games that can be put on their own social networking pages. Think Habbo Hotel mixed with MySpace.
