Maybe the iPhone Wasn't Such a Hot Idea After All ...

Apple.jpg

News today that Apple Inc.'s stock is now taking a bit of a beating on the good ol' stock market as a result over concerns that people planning to make iPod purchases in the next quarter might just hold off for one of those dandy iPhones that will unbow in June.

Sayz MarketWatch:

Bill Shope, of J.P. Morgan, cut his rating on Apple's stock to neutral from overweight, citing several factors, including the iPhone's possible effect on iPod purchases.

"We believe this [seasonal] risk is particularly pronounced given our concerns that some consumers may delay iPod purchases ahead of the iPhone lauch," Shope said, in a research note.

I guess Steve Jobs should have did what he did when he launched the iPod Nano: announce it on the day of its launch.
