In Happier Microsoft News ...

To show just how positive of a guy I can be -- considering that I'm starting to wonder if the slight snark factor on these latest meme.ca entries is directly proportionate to its author's slight anxiety at the moment about the state of the writing market in Canada -- we bring you the flip-side to the bad news leveled at M-soft yesterday.

I found out through Ottawa's NLC Internet Marketing blog that Microsoft is reportedly working on a tool that will take direct aim at Google. More specifically, Google Analytics.

Analyze this:

The good folks at Microsoft are not announcing many details. But Ian Thomas has acknowledged that they are in alpha trials of a hosted web analytic solution that has Google Analytics in the cross-hairs. Microsoft purchased DeepMetrix in May of last year and is using their LiveStat product line as the framework for the new offering, currently code-named Gatineau.

Much happiness. Rainbows. Unicorns. Flowers swaying in the breeze. Ahhh.

Though, on second thought, this might not be great news for Google.

(Sigh).

It's usually six or half a dozen of the other, ain't it? But we're trying! Happy, happy. Joy, joy.
