The old sckool media reported ov'r the weekend that Google is making googly eyes towards Adscape Media. Seems like the search engine firm has the intent of getting down and dirty with the Internet advertising company.
Let's do a search, shall we?
Adscape's technology delivers advertisements over the Internet into video games. By acquiring it, Google could offer its advertising customers a new venue for ads.The report noted that while sending ads into video games is still a nascent market, game publishers are pursuing it aggressively. New game consoles are designed to be connected to the Internet, and advertisements can appear in the background of games.
Can inserting ads into YouTube videos be far behind? Hmmm.
Said article also notes that Google rival Microsoft bought out one of Adscape's competitors, Massive, for $200 million U.S.
The question I pose to you Memesters is this: what would you do with $200 million U.S.? I don't know about you, but I'd buy a gold plated statue of Dig 'Em and put it in the town square. (Family Guy reference for you there. See, look at the good cultural stuff I bring to you on a Monday morning.)
Thanks to Aurielis for tipping us off to this.
