Digg 3.0 Released

digg3.jpgA new version of Digg was launched today which adds new features, and new categories over the previous version. I am liking some of the new AJAX effects, which include a better login form, and easier article submission process, but there are others out there that are not liking the new elements like Elliot Back who says:

Note the prominent green color! What bothers me, though, is that the new layout is too heavy. Now it’s just a tech news site, it’s an everything news site. There’s a bar on the left to filter information, tabs on the right, tabs on the top, friends on the left. It’s like Digg just asked the question, “Where can we fit all our features in” and placed them haphazardly everywhere.

It is too early to tell if Digg will do well with the design changes and feature changes, but I am certain the technology community will continue to watch it grow and change.
