Cesar Kuriyama's Video: 'Long Gone' in 45,000 Photographs

Cesar Kuriyama is an award-winning New York-based lighting technical director, animator and educator. Cesar has taught at NYU and Harvard and has done commercial work for clients such as Gillete, BMW, AOL and Toshiba. When Cesar is not working, he's busy honing his creative craft by working on side projects. One such side project was creating a music video for the band 'Fat City Reprise'.

Cesar's music video for the song called 'Long Gone' took him 14 months to make. He collaborated with an artist friend and spent almost 4 months storyboarding the video, creating a full animatic of the video before any shooting took place. But here's the fascinating part, no video footage was used in production. The entire video is composed by the stitching together of 45,000 photographs taken with a Nikon D200 DSLR. The video was edited on Cesar's MacBook Pro in Final Cut Pro and he used iPhoto to manage the 45,000 photo ensemble.
