Bong Hits & Couples Blogs?

Sometimes I think Arrington makes this stuff up. So apparently one of the Vimeo co-founders, Jakob Lodwick, left the video hosting site due to irreconcilable differences with his bosses and then turned around and posted the above image to his blog.

His girlfriend, Julia Allison, Star magazine editor, wrote on their couple blog:

Dear Jakob, I wish I hadn’t found out you left the company you’ve been with for the last seven years from your blog. Love, Julia.

In this situation drug use is not completely unacceptable. I mean, dude...you just lost the company you've been working with for 7 years. That's like 500 years in internet time. If you'd worked for Google for 7 years, I think you'd be a millionaire.

But...a couples blog? This isn't a healthy idea. Julia Allison first rose to minor celebrity after writing a features article about her affair with a politician. From there she's written sex and dating columns and now she works for a gossip magazine. Is it really surprising to see her berate her boyfriend in public during his lowest moment?

This is Northern California and Jakob Lodwick's bong antics aren't that big of a deal; however, the fact that he let himself be photographed with drug paraphenalia is definitely going to turn off conservative funders. He is apparently a fairly brilliant individual and I'll be interested to see if he can raise Series A for his next project. (I suggest looking for Dutch investors)
